i

Definition:

Modifiers always precede modified words. Relative clauses directly modify nouns without relative pronouns. Adjectives and nouns can modify nouns.

r

Connection Rules:

Relative clause: [clause] + noun (私が買った本 = the book that I bought). No relative pronouns needed. Adjective+noun: 大きい家。Noun+noun: 日本の文化。Verb dictionary/past form modifies noun directly

e

Example:

私が買った本

the book that I bought

大きい家

big house

!

Confusion Points:

Modification chains: Multiple modifiers stack before noun (昨日私が買った大きい赤い本 = the big red book that I bought yesterday). AI must parse nested modification from inside out
