Chapter 19: Daiyu Burns Her Poems
第十九章：黛玉焚稿
Daiyu's health had been growing worse with each passing month. She coughed frequently, and her face had become pale and thin. The doctor said she needed rest and peace, but peace was the one thing the Jia mansion could no longer provide. Rumors were spreading about Baoyu's marriage, and Daiyu knew in her heart that she was not the chosen bride.
黛玉的健康状况每个月都在恶化。她频繁咳嗽，脸色变得苍白消瘦。医生说需要休息和平静，但平静是贾府再也无法提供的东西。关于宝玉婚事的谣言在传播，黛玉心里知道，自己不是被选中的新娘。
One cold autumn night, Daiyu sat alone in her room. The wind howled outside, and the bamboo trees swayed in the darkness. She opened a wooden box and took out all the poems she had written over the years. Each piece of paper held a memory of her life in the garden, of the poetry club, of her love for Baoyu.
一个寒冷的秋夜，黛玉独自坐在房间里。外面风声呼啸，竹子在黑暗中摇曳。她打开一个木箱，拿出多年来写的所有诗稿。每张纸都承载着她在花园里的生活记忆、诗社的欢乐、对宝玉的爱情。
"What use are these words now?" she whispered to herself. She lit a small fire in the bronze basin and began to burn the poems one by one. The flames rose and consumed the paper, turning her beautiful words into ash. Tears fell from her eyes, but she did not stop.
"这些文字现在还有什么用？"她低声自语。她在铜盆里生了一小堆火，开始一张一张地烧毁诗稿。火焰升起，吞噬了纸张，把她美丽的文字化为灰烬。眼泪从她眼中落下，但她没有停下。
Zijuan found her and tried to save the remaining poems, but Daiyu held her back. "Let them go," she said softly. "Everything must go." The fire burned until there was nothing left but gray ash. Daiyu's poems, her memories, and her hopes all disappeared into the cold night air.
紫鹃发现后试图抢救剩下的诗稿，但黛玉拦住了她。"让它们走吧，"她轻声说，"一切都该走了。"火一直烧到只剩下灰色的灰烬。黛玉的诗、她的记忆和她的希望，都消失在寒冷的夜空中。
That night, Daiyu made a quiet decision. She would not fight against her fate. She had loved Baoyu with all her heart, and that love had been the most beautiful thing in her life. Now it was time to let go, to return to the earth like the flowers she had buried in the spring.
