第十六章：对社会反思
Looking at these villagers, I began to think about social problems.
看着这些乡亲，我开始思考社会的问题。
Why do the rich get wealthier while farmers' lives become more difficult? Why can some people drive cars and live in buildings, while others can't even afford shoes? Is this society fair, or unfair?
为什么富人的财富越来越多，而农民的生活越来越困难？为什么有些人可以开汽车住楼房，而有些人连鞋子都买不起？这个社会，到底是公平的，还是不公平的？
I remembered some books I read as a child, which said that everyone is equal and society is fair. But what about reality? The reality is that the gap between the rich and the poor is growing larger and larger, and social fairness is becoming less and less.
我想起小时候读过的一些书，书上说，人人平等，社会公平。但是现实呢？现实是，富人和穷人之间的差距越来越大，社会的公平越来越少。
I don't know what to do. I am just one person, one scholar, what can I do? I can only think silently in my heart, pray silently, hoping that one day society will become better.
我不知道该怎么办。我只是一个人，一个读书人，我能做什么呢？我只能在心里默默思考，默默祈祷，希望有一天，社会会变得更好。
But do I really have hope?
但是，我真的有希望吗？
