Chapter 15: The Poverty of the Peasants
第十五章：农民的贫困
Besides Run Tu, many other farmers came too. They wore worn-out clothes, their faces covered with wrinkles, looking very tired.
除了闰土，还有很多农民也来了。他们穿着破旧的衣服，脸上满是皱纹，看起来很辛苦。
They came to help move things, not asking for payment, just to help out. They were very friendly, very honest, but also very poor.
他们来帮忙搬东西，不要报酬，只是来帮个忙。他们很友善，很诚实，但是也很贫穷。
I saw one farmer whose shoe had a large hole, and his toes were exposed. I asked him, "Your shoe is broken, why don't you buy new ones?"
我看到其中一个农民，他的鞋子破了一个大洞，脚趾都露出来了。我问他说："你的鞋子破了，为什么不买新的？"
He said, "No money, as long as it can be worn, it's fine."
他说："没有钱，能穿就行。"
I looked at him, feeling very sad. These people have to labor hard every day, but their income is very little. They can't afford new clothes, can't afford new shoes, and can't even afford their children's tuition.
我看着他，心里很难过。这些人，每天都要辛勤地劳动，但是他们的收入却很少。他们买不起新衣服，买不起新鞋子，甚至连孩子的学费都付不起。
Is this the reality of the countryside? Is this the life of farmers?
这就是农村的现实吗？这就是农民的生活吗？
