第16章：社会への省察
Looking at these villagers, I began to think about social problems.
これらの村人を見て、私は社会問題について考え始めました。
Why do the rich get wealthier while farmers' lives become more difficult? Why can some people drive cars and live in buildings, while others can't even afford shoes? Is this society fair, or unfair?
なぜ金持ちはより裕福になり、農民の生活はより困難になるのか？なぜある人々は車を運転してビルに住めるのに、他の人々は靴さえ買えないのか？この社会は公平なのか、それとも不公平なのか？
I remembered some books I read as a child, which said that everyone is equal and society is fair. But what about reality? The reality is that the gap between the rich and the poor is growing larger and larger, and social fairness is becoming less and less.
私は子供の頃に読んだいくつかの本を思い出しました。そこには、誰もが平等であり、社会は公平であると書かれていました。しかし、現実はどうでしょうか？現実は、貧富の差がますます大きくなり、社会の公平性がますます少なくなっているということです。
I don't know what to do. I am just one person, one scholar, what can I do? I can only think silently in my heart, pray silently, hoping that one day society will become better.
私はどうすればいいのかわかりません。私はただの一人の人間、一人の学者です、私に何ができるでしょうか？私はただ心の中で静かに考え、静かに祈ることしかできません、いつか社会が良くなることを願って。
But do I really have hope?
