Chapitre 18 : Quitter la Maison à Nouveau
Finally, we were leaving.
Finalement, nous partions.
Mother and I sat in the car, watching the old house getting farther and farther away. In my heart, I was filled with reluctance to part. This is my home, the place where I grew up, but now, I have to leave it.
Mère et moi nous sommes assis dans la voiture, regardant la vieille maison s'éloigner de plus en plus. Dans mon cœur, j'étais rempli de réticence à partir. C'est ma maison, l'endroit où j'ai grandi, mais maintenant, je dois la quitter.
The villagers stood by the roadside, waving to us. I waved to them, watching their figures gradually disappear.
Les villageois se tenaient au bord de la route, nous faisant signe. Je leur ai fait signe, regardant leurs silhouettes disparaître progressivement.
Run Tu was there too, standing at the very back, silently watching me. I waved to him, and he waved to me too. His eyes were filled with complex emotions.
Run Tu était là aussi, debout tout au fond, me regardant silencieusement. Je lui ai fait signe, et il m'a fait signe aussi. Ses yeux étaient remplis d'émotions complexes.
The car drove faster and faster, the old house disappeared, the villagers disappeared, Run Tu disappeared too. I only saw the road ahead, saw the future ahead.
La voiture roulait de plus en plus vite, la vieille maison a disparu, les villageois ont disparu, Run Tu a disparu aussi. Je ne voyais que la route devant, je voyais l'avenir devant.
I was going to the city to start a new life. But I would always remember this place, remember these villagers, remember Run Tu.
J'allais en ville pour commencer une nouvelle vie. Mais je me souviendrais toujours de cet endroit, je me souviendrais de ces villageois, je me souviendrais de Run Tu.
